SCAR REMOVAL

Scars (also called cicatrices) are areas of fibrous tissue (fibrosis) that replace normal skin (or other tissue) after injury or disease. A scar results from the biologic process of wound repair in the skin and other tissues of the body. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. With the exception of very minor lesions, every wound (e.g. after accident, disease, or surgery) results in some degree of scarring. Scars may cause some psychological discomfort, can be also the reason of itching, pain and contractures. WellDerm Centre offers a range of well-tested therapies to reduce scarring and improve skin appearance.

Therapy:

Appropriate treatment may help reduce the scar but the results largely depend on the initial state of skin.

Treatment effectiveness depends on:

  • Patient age

  • Patient age

  • Scar type

  • Severity of the scar

  • Scar location

  • Period between scar creation and the beginning of the treatment

Medical treatments aim to make the scar resemble the surrounding skin in both color and texture.

Treatments used at WellDerm:

Palomar (Lux1540)

Dermatosurgery

Traditional mesotherapy

Medical peelings

Jet Peel

Corrective make-up

Due to different causes of scarring the decision on type of treatment is individual for each case
