SURGICAL REMOVAL

Surgical removal procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, therefore it is completely painless. After removing the change, the wound is usually stitched and dressed. Stitches are removed within 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure. The wound heals quickly and with time becomes paler and less visible.
We recommend histopathological examination after the procedure. Histopathological examination is a microscopic examination of a tissue selected from the skin change. Material for the examination is collected from the patient through a biopsy (excise) of the changed part of the skin or the whole change.
